Browns place running back Dylan Sampson on injured reserve

BEREA, Ohio (AP) — Dylan Sampson was placed on injured reserve by the Cleveland Browns on Tuesday.

The second-year running back injured his left knee during the first quarter of last Sunday's 34-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Sampson will miss a minimum of four games. He could be eligible to return before the Browns host the Baltimore Ravens on Oct. 18.

Sampson is the second running back, behind Quinshon Judkins, as well as being one of the team's kick returners. Raheim “Rocket” Sanders took Sampson's place on kick returns and had a 74-yard return during the third quarter to set up Andre Szmyt’s 26-yard field goal.

Cleveland signed Jaleel McLaughlin off the practice squad to take Sampson’s place. McLaughlin was with Denver the past three seasons.
