Sam Guillen, Broker of Record at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties.
Guillen is a 32-year industry veteran who joined Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties in 2013. With a diverse professional background that includes working as a sales associate, a Branch Manager, Director of Education and Training, and Vice President, he brings a multifaceted insight to every aspect of the business.
“I’m excited about the chance to reinforce our standing as one of the most professional, respected brokerages in the nation,” said Guillen, a native of Downey, California, and a San Diego resident for the past 25 years. “I am also honored to be the first Latino American to hold a senior executive role here at the company.”
Bruice is a former litigation attorney who transitioned to residential sales in 2010. Initially licensed in 2006, he has also held a variety of managerial leadership positions.
“My experience in the legal field has been integral in my efforts to help agents navigate complex transactions,” noted Bruice. “Time is of the essence in real estate and I’m optimistic about my ability to serve as a bridge between our agents and the legal department, expediting solutions and ensuring our clients receive the best possible outcome.”
Guillen is similarly focused on elevating the client experience. “By expanding our training and communication platforms, we will keep our agents at the forefront of the industry,” he said. “This in turn benefits our clients because it allows us to market their homes effectively and provide them with timely, insightful guidance on the latest market updates.”
Guillen is known for the innovative, live-streamed broadcast he launched during the pandemic, Go Live, to keep agents informed and connected. Initially a daily update, the show is now a weekly podcast. It remains an essential platform for sharing information and dynamic new strategies for serving buyers and sellers. Guillen applied the same format to lead agents through the paradigm shift in regard to the recent NAR settlement in over 30 live events; he co-produces a nationwide podcast with Jimmy Burgess, Chief Coaching Officer of HomeServices of America, which offers insights from top producers in multiple brokerages.
The emphasis on training and education is a central component of Guillen’s growth-oriented mindset. “I am a lifelong learner and an active listener. I truly enjoy learning more about people and their perspectives,” said Guillen. “Learning is essential to success because it allows us to identify new growth opportunities.”
Technology is vital in the pursuit of success, Guillen added, however, it is a tool that is only as effective as the user: “The key is to embrace the latest technology and leverage it for the maximum possible benefit. We are entering a new era in real estate where adaptability, learning, and the thoughtful integration of technology like AI have the potential to vastly improve the services we offer and, by extension, the client experience. Our team is committed to embracing innovation while never losing sight of the human creativity and personal connection that sets us apart.”
Guillen and Bruice are enthusiastic about the opportunity to position agents for success at every stage of their career, by providing them with the tools, training and guidance they need to thrive in the modern business landscape. Together with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties President Brent Consedine, they are looking forward to setting the tone for the next generation of leadership in real estate, through authenticity, innovation, inclusion, and a commitment to excellence.
