Brooks Running achieved its ninth consecutive quarter of year-over-year growth.
The global running market continued to grow in Q3, driven by strong demand for performance running footwear. In the U.S., where adult performance running footwear increased 13% in Q3, 1 Brooks achieved No. 1 market share at national retail. 2 Year to date through Q3, Brooks held three of the top six adult performance footwear styles sold at U.S. national retail, more than any other brand. 3 In France and Germany, where in Q3 performance running footwear grew 9% and 23%, respectively, 4 Brooks outpaced both markets with 15% growth in France and 29% growth in Germany. 5 This momentum led Brooks to catch the market leader, now sharing the No. 1 spot in this segment. 6 In a new survey of global runners from Running USA, Brooks retained its top spot as the favorite brand of shoes for both training and racing, with over 20% share in each category. 7
“Our entire global team wakes up every day thinking about the runner – how they move, what they feel, the experience they desire and expect from their Brooks gear,” said Dan Sheridan, Brooks Running CEO. “I am super proud of the way Brooks is executing, even against a backdrop of continued economic impacts and uncertainty. More people around the world are running and choosing an active lifestyle and Brooks is central to their health and wellness goals.”
Product portfolio depth and audience expansion drive increased demand
In Q3, Brooks launched five footwear styles in three core performance categories – cushion, trail, and speed – fueling a 17% growth in year-over-year footwear revenue. The brand also previewed the all-new Cascadia Elite, a shoe that’s helped propel Brooks’ elite trail athletes to 12 first place finishes and 30 podiums this season. Core franchises continued to post gains with Adrenaline GTS up 20% and Glycerin up 29% while full-price products grew 21%.
The Brooks x RSVP Gallery Caldera 8, a new addition to Brooks’ lifestyle collection, drew strong interest from both new and existing customers. Developed in collaboration with RSVP Gallery, co-founded by renowned designer and streetwear visionary Don C, the reimagined Caldera 8 joined new colorways of the Adrenaline GTS 4, Cascadia 1, and Chariot in Q3, growing Brooks’ overall offering of performance-inspired footwear styles beyond the run.
Through its ongoing relationship with run Disney, Brooks launched limited-edition product at the Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend in September. The Ghost 17 run Disney Halloween sold out at the race expo and the full run Disney collection continues to set revenue records for Brooks on brooksrunning.com.
Brooks and its athletes at the center of running’s biggest moments
From the Brooks House of Mountains at Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) in Chamonix to the Brooks Hyperion Houseboat at the TCS Sydney Marathon, Brooks brought its unique energy to the global running community in Q3 through a series of immersive brand experiences at iconic running events. In Tokyo and Berlin, Brooks opened its signature Hyperion Houses where runners could try on new products and experience the brand in real life, and in its debut as a sponsor of England’s AJ Bell Great North Run – the largest half marathon in the world with more than 60,000 participants – Brooks reinforced its commitment to running’s biggest moments.
Throughout Q3, Brooks athletes delivered stand-out performances across the season’s top competitions. At the USATF Outdoor and Para National Championships, Emily Infeld captured the 10,000m title. At UTMB’s Experience Trail Courmayeur, Brooks was the most represented brand in the men’s top 10, led by Remi Leroux (5th), Gianluca Ghiano (6th), and Dan Curts (9th). At the World Athletics Championships, Brooks sponsored all three U.S. women’s marathoners – Erika Kemp, Jess McClain, and Susanna Sullivan, with Sullivan and McClain finishing in the top 10.
