KBRA & Morningstar Confirm Rating on MPOWER Financing’s 1st U.S. Securitization of International Student Loans

MPOWER Financing ("MPOWER"), a mission-driven fintech firm and the leader in international student financing, today announced that Kroll Bond Rating Agency, LLC (“KBRA”) and Morningstar DBRS have both affirmed their credit ratings on MPOWER Education Trust 2024-A ("MPOWR 2024-A") securitization, based on the notes’ performance and financial outlook.

MPOWER’s $215.2 million collateral pool, issued in 2024, is composed of U.S. dollar-denominated, fixed-rate loans made to primarily graduate international students at leading U.S. colleges and universities. It was the first securitization of international student loans by a U.S.-domiciled private student lending platform. In 2025, MPOWER securitized an additional $313.2 million of international student loans.

In a press release announcing its analysis, Morningstar DBRS affirmed credit ratings on three classes of notes from the MPOWER Education Trust 2024-A student loan transaction. The review cited strong capital structure, robust credit enhancement, and stable collateral performance. It also found low losses, and steady delinquency and forbearance rates. KBRA indicated that the existing credit enhancement for the notes is sufficient to support the affirmed rating on the Class A notes.
