A Twitter executive on Wednesday said the company is considering a new feature that will label tweets from politicians, including President Trump, when they supposedly violate Twitter rules.

The Hill reports Twitter's so-called head of legal, policy, and trust and safety said the company might start noting offensive tweets from public figures with a message about why they remain up.

Twitter's policies have long held that tweets from politicians are “newsworthy” and important to public debate.

Trump has often used his Twitter account to criticize news outlets, Democrats, actors and more, causing critics to demand Twitter step in.
