Hands-On Faith for Families – Week of May 4, 2026

Theme: Christ Is Lord of My Actions

Scripture: Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. (Colossians 3:17)

Play: Name some things that you can control with a remote (a toy, TV, garage door). Take turns pretending that one of you is the remote controller and the others are being controlled by the remote.

Talk: If He wanted to, God could control our every action, just like someone using a remote. But He doesn’t. He loves us so much that He allows us to choose to love and obey Him. Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” What is one thing you can choose to do today to show that Jesus is Lord over your actions?

Pray: Ask God to help you make good choices as you follow Him.
