FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep 9, 2025--

Trident Solutions (“Trident”), a defense electronics platform backed by ATL Partners, today announced a comprehensive rebrand and organizational realignment following the successful sale of Geost to Rocket Lab in August. The rebrand unites the remaining companies — Trident Systems and Ophir Corporation — under a single, new Trident brand, strengthening the platform’s position as a rapidly scaling, multi-domain space defense electronics platform.

As part of this transition, Lorin Hattrup has been named Chief Executive Officer of Trident. He previously served as President and General Manager of Trident Systems since early 2024, during which time he more than doubled the company’s growth. A seasoned national security technology executive, Hattrup brings a vision focused on growth, innovation, and customer partnership across multiple defense domains.

Trident also retains the exceptional engineering, technical, and leadership talent that defined the success of the former company, now reorganized as Trident’s three operating divisions:

  • Trident SES (Space Electronics Systems) – led by Daniel Hibbard, delivering resilient, high-performance electronics for contested space environments from LEO to Cislunar.
  • Trident ICS (Integrated C4ISR Systems) – led by Jimmy O’Looney, advancing command, control, communications, surveillance and signal processing systems for air, land and sea missions.
  • Trident OPS (Optical Precision Systems) – led by Matt Sowadski, innovating cutting-edge optical sensors for atmospheric and airborne missions.

“The reorganization and rebranding mark a pivotal step in our evolution —not just as a collection of capabilities, but as a unified, mission-driven team with a singular focus: to rapidly deliver high-performance, purpose-built electronics and processing systems for multiple domains.” said Lorin Hattrup, CEO of Trident Solutions. “By uniting our teams under the Trident brand and streamlining our structure into focused divisions, we are better positioned to innovate and scale to meet the needs of our defense and national security partners.”

Built for Growth

While the Trident branding is new, its equity represents more than 40 years of heritage delivering agile, purpose-built systems for mission success across multiple domains. The new logo symbolizes this integrated approach, representing electronics, sensors and systems that enable mission success across all warfighting domains. From systems powering satellite architectures, to C4ISR capabilities on land and at sea, to contrail detection with our atmospheric sensors, our new visual identity reflects our collective, cutting-edge technologies.

“This move strengthens our market position as a leading merchant supplier to the defense and intelligence community,” said James Yates, Chief Growth and Strategy Officer at Trident. “We value our deep partnerships with key defense primes as we deliver proven technology, as demonstrated by our systems successfully flying on multiple proliferated space architectures. With this alignment, we’re well positioned to innovate next-gen technologies, scale with demand, and deliver rapid, integrated solutions to our national security customers.”

What’s Next for Trident

Trident is actively pursuing strategic and organic growth opportunities across the defense electronics sector, with a focus on scaling its space-based portfolio and advanced systems for C4ISR. Trident’s broad technical base enables it to deliver rapidly deployable solutions that address the most complex technical challenges in modern warfare.

“Our team is energized and growing,” added Hattrup. “We are investing in people, infrastructure, and R&D to ensure we’re at the forefront of defense modernization.”
