SlateStone Wealth announces the appointment of Erin Gibbs as Chief Equity Strategist.

A recognized leader in quantitative equity research and portfolio strategy, Gibbs brings more than 25 years of experience managing institutional-grade portfolios for both private clients and global investment firms. In this new role, she will lead the development of SlateStone’s quantitative equity platform, beginning with the design and implementation of a new small- and mid-cap (SMID) strategy.

By combining advanced modeling with decades of real-world portfolio oversight, Gibbs’s work will focus on enhancing portfolio precision, disciplined execution, and risk-aware returns. Her addition represents a strategic expansion of SlateStone’s bespoke investment capabilities at a time when many firms are relying more heavily on outsourced models.

Gibbs will collaborate closely with Daniel D. Payne, CFA, SlateStone’s Chief Investment Officer, to ensure integration across the firm’s fundamental and quantitative strategies. She also joins the firm’s Investment Policy Committee and will work alongside advisory and business development teams to align portfolio design with client needs and long-range objectives.

Before joining SlateStone, Gibbs served as Chief Investment Officer at Main Street Asset Management, where she co-led multi-asset strategies for high-net-worth families. She was previously Equity CIO at S&P Investment Advisory Services, advising over $15 billion in quantitative equity assets. Her earlier experience includes senior analytical roles at Liberty Ridge Capital, Citigroup, and Sanford Bernstein.

Gibbs earned her B.B.A. in International Management with a concentration in Finance from Pace University and completed graduate coursework in Mathematics in Finance at NYU’s Courant Institute. She is a frequent contributor to national financial media and a recognized voice on market behavior, strategy, and investor discipline.
