ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep 9, 2025--
TechNext Inc., a Massachusetts Institute of Technology ( MIT ) spin-off specializing in quantitative technology forecasting, today announced a contract with the Northeast Microelectronics Coalition (NEMC) Hub funded through the Microelectronics Commons program. TechNext will use its patented AI-powered platform to analyze, strengthen, and accelerate innovation in semiconductor manufacturing across the Northeastern United States.
Lack Of Quantitative Tools Hinders Innovation
"Semiconductors are the backbone of every advanced technology, yet the journey from lab to fab is riddled with uncertainty, " said TechNext co-founder and C.E.O., Prof. Christopher L. Magee. "We can illuminate the fastest paths to commercial impact, de-risk investments, and ensure the region leads in next-generation microelectronics."
"The ability to quantify technology trajectories will help NEMC and its member organizations more efficiently engage its collective infrastructure and capabilities, moving innovations from laboratory to fabrication with reduced risk and greater speed, " said NEMC Director Mark Halfman.
Debates rage over the viability of various materials, different architectures, manufacturing technologies, across the “supply chain of technologies”. TechNext’s patented forecasting engine equips stakeholders with quantitative clarity to discover promising opportunities, plug critical gaps and maximize return on investment.
About the NEMC Hub: The Northeast Microelectronics Coalition (NEMC) Hub is a network of over 250 organizations including commercial and defense companies, leading academic institutions, federally funded R&D centers (FFRDCs) and startups concentrated in eight Northeast states. Established in 2023, the Hub is one of eight regional Microelectronics Commons Hubs working to expand the nation’s global leadership in microelectronics and accelerate domestic semiconductor prototyping. The NEMC Hub is a division of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative and was established under the Microelectronics Commons program and executed through the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division (NSWC Crane) and the National Security Technology Accelerator (NSTXL). The Hub fosters a vibrant, connected microelectronics ecosystem to provide sustainable lab-to-fab enablement, boost education, workforce development and spur new jobs.
