“Our New York Experience Center deepens our connection with North America’s design community and reflects a rising demand for contemporary luxury—expressed through elevated design, performance innovation, and mindfulness of the carbon impact of appliances within the home,” says Fisher & Paykel CEO Daniel Witten-Hannah. “This reimagined space is a key part of our growing global network spanning Auckland, Melbourne, London, Toronto, Costa Mesa, and now New York, all of which showcase our commitment to elevating daily routines into beautiful experiences.”
The design of the intimate yet immersive and experiential 6,400-square-foot space offers a thoughtful nod to the brand’s New Zealand heritage and its local surroundings. New York’s inspiration is evident in the raw sophistication woven throughout, from the rich contrast of materials, such as American walnut, to subtle references to the city’s iconic Manhattan grid, bluestone sidewalks, and wood-planked water towers.
“We designed the New York Experience Center with Fisher & Paykel’s distinctly New Zealand approach to hospitality—one that’s rooted in care, ritual, and intentionality. Our role was to translate that ethos into New York’s architectural language, creating a material palette that feels pure in intent—specific to New York, yet aligned with the brand’s values,” says Schiller. “The diagrammatic floor plan is divided into four quadrants, each with its own material palette, unified by a monolithic floor and ceiling. The space’s clear circulation and minimalist approach reflects our shared belief that good design enhances daily life – intentionally, quietly and sometimes even invisibly."
The redesigned Experience Center invites visitors to consider how they or their clients might ideally live, cook, care for precious garments, and entertain, all with the support of a dedicated team of professionals to help bring these ideas to life. Ninety-eight percent of the floor’s cooking space is dedicated to the brand’s expanded induction portfolio, reflecting the growing demand for smart, sustainable solutions across large urban cities like New York. Central to the visitor experience are three hero kitchen environments, developed with Arclinea, Henrybuilt, and bespoke millwork partner Edgewood Made —plus examples of smaller footprint luxury spaces created with Space Theory. Each demonstrates Fisher & Paykel’s unique approach to designing appliances that integrate seamlessly with the architecture of the home and work together as an intelligent ecosystem.
Experiential Kitchen and Living Scenarios
The Minimal Kitchen
Designed in-house and fabricated by Edgewood Made, the Minimal Kitchen embodies poetic simplicity. Visually recessive, Minimal Style appliances such as the Modular Induction Cooktop Family sit flush with tactile surfaces, while integrated solutions like the Series 11 Column Refrigeration disappear seamlessly into cabinetry, elevating the kitchen from utility to bespoke furniture.
The Contemporary Kitchen
Created with Italian kitchen brand Arclinea, this space is a more layered expression of kitchen modernism. A five-metre-long ‘Principia’ island anchors the space, warm ‘Fossil Oak’ cabinetry elegantly conceals Fisher & Paykel’s Column refrigeration solutions, and new induction-powered Modular Cooktops are precisely inset into the stainless steel island for greater versatility as well as performance.
The Professional Kitchen
Designed with Henrybuilt, this space highlights the interplay of robust, precision-engineered appliances and finely crafted walnut millwork. Here, Professional Style appliances are purposeful landmarks—tactile, durable, and built for those who love to cook and entertain — including the robust Series 11 48” Professional Induction Range and the Series 11 36” Refrigerator Freezer with industry-leading energy efficiency and advanced cooling technology for food preservation.
Smaller Footprint Spaces
Created with Space Theory, two compact kitchens demonstrate that luxury is defined by consideration, not scale. A showcase of high-performance solutions, these spaces blend refined materiality, thoughtful detailing, and precise appliance placement — ideal for apartments or townhouses. They also debut select Fisher & Paykel appliances in a sleek new finish, Minimal Gray, coming to the North American market in 2026.
The Wine & Beverage Experience
The wine tasting and beverage center demonstration area showcases how wine care solutions can be seamlessly integrated into bespoke millwork within the home. Bringing increased cooling capabilities to underutilized areas such as kitchen islands and butler’s pantries, the Series 9 24” Integrated Beverage Center and Wine Cabinet offers independent cooling zones and ActiveSmart™ technology for precise temperature control to properly store a range of beverages.
Mastery of Temperature Experiences
For many years, Fisher & Paykel has hosted exclusive Social Kitchen events that bring people together through food. In New York, guests are invited to participate in Mastery of Temperature culinary experiences—immersive gatherings led by in-house chefs that explore the precision and performance behind Fisher & Paykel’s appliance technologies.
These events offer a deeper understanding of how a connected kitchen ecosystem supports perfect results: keeping food fresher for longer, wine cellared or ready to serve, and transforming ingredients into cuisine — all informing a kitchen design tailored to individual patterns of living.
Outdoor Kitchen
Fisher & Paykel’s outdoor kitchen scenario showcases the robust aesthetic and powerful cooking performance of DCS Appliances, featuring a linear layout with dedicated zones for cooking, beverages, storage, and prep, illustrating how indoor and outdoor kitchens can be united through both material choices and a focus on performance. Made from high-grade stainless steel, DCS Grills are built for power and durability. The grills are recessed into the cabinetry, aligning with prep surfaces for a cohesive and ergonomic design.
Luxury Fabric Care
Beyond the kitchen, the New York Experience Center presents Fisher & Paykel’s connected approach to fabric care—grounded in the understanding that the modern wardrobe is an investment that deserves specialised care. The Lounge is a space to explore the future of laundry as an ecosystem of connected appliances delivering tailored fabric care to all corners of the wardrobe. Central to this vision is the Series 11 Fabric Care Cabinet, a testament to ongoing innovation in steam-based care. Available in 2027 for North America, this revolutionary appliance refreshes, deodorizes, sanitizes, and dries garments without chemicals or traditional dry cleaning, extending garment life and embedding care more thoughtfully into the home.
A Resource for Designers, Architects, and Clients
The New York Experience Center is open to designers, architects, and those interested in exploring kitchen and fabric care design through the lens of human-centered performance, as well as learning about carbon impact through sustainable innovation, as Fisher & Paykel continues to design appliances that do more using less—less water, less energy, and less carbon.
Drop-in visitors are welcome at any time during open hours from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM from Monday-Friday. Appointments can be booked online, by calling 646-647-4330, or emailing [email protected]. Demonstrations of the live products in the showroom are also available by appointment, including Fisher & Paykel’s Mastery of Temperature culinary experience.
