NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov 20, 2025--

Unthread, the AI-powered helpdesk company, today announced the launch of its proprietary Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that enables AI systems to securely and naturally interact with APIs, internal data, and business applications.

Initially introduced by Anthropic in 2024, MCP standardizes how AI systems access and execute actions across external tools. Now, with Unthread’s MCP implementation, support and operations teams can connect to their ticketing systems, HR platforms, and internal tools through a single, conversational workflow. This means fewer repetitive tickets, faster response times, and less back-and-forth on simple requests.

“Teams today are drowning in disconnected communication threads, from IT tickets and HR requests to customer support data,” said Tom Bachant, Founder & CEO of Unthread. “By bringing MCP to our platform, we’re creating a bridge between AI and the workplace stack, so now you can get work done by chatting directly in ChatGPT or Claude's interface, and free up time for real problem-solving.”

Unthread’s MCP server is available in both hosted and self-hosted configurations, offering teams complete control over their data and automations. Teams can now leverage Unthread’s 100+ integrations and workflow management tools in one conversational experience. The launch reflects Unthread’s mission to make workplace operations more intelligent, connected, and effortless.

The company’s impact is already evident in its partnership with Lemonade, the technology-driven insurance carrier. Lemonade partnered with Unthread to support their internal ticketing process across departments, including IT, finance, operations, and human resources. Since integration earlier this year, Unthread now automatically resolves 40% of all support tickets, saving their employees thousands of hours while improving response times and employee satisfaction.

“Unthread allows our teams to operate faster and stay focused on high-value work. Within months, Unthread’s team delivered over 100 game-changing feature requests for us, unmatched in both speed and collaboration,” said Danny Fang, Head of IT at Lemonade. “With MCP, we get the next layer: AI that can reach across systems to solve real problems instead of just surfacing suggestions. It streamlines support without losing the authenticity of human interaction.”

This announcement follows the company’s recent partnership with the industry-leading LLM Mistral AI to integrate its Agentic AI software into Unthread’s platform, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in support automation. Mistral AI’s capabilities, ranging from transcription to coding and now supporting Agents in their API out of the box, mean a more standardized experience for users and an easier way for Unthread to leverage LLMs for more advanced workflows and AI decision-making.
