BOTTOM LINE: No. 2 Purdue hosts Akron after Braden Smith scored 29 points in Purdue's 87-80 victory against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Purdue finished 24-12 overall a season ago while going 14-2 at home. The Boilermakers shot 48.6% from the field and 38.2% from 3-point range last season.

Akron went 28-7 overall a season ago while going 8-4 on the road. The Zips averaged 84.0 points per game while allowing opponents to score 75.0 last season.
