Naturopath who sold fake vaccine cards gets nearly 3 years

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Federal prosecutors say a naturopathic doctor who sold fake COVID-19 immunization treatments and fraudulent vaccination cards has been sentenced in California to nearly three years in prison. Juli A. Mazi pleaded guilty last April in federal court in San Francisco to one count of wire fraud and one count of false statements related to health care matters. Mazi, who fired her attorneys and represented herself, filed a letter last week with the court saying that as a Native American she is “immune to legal action.” She did not immediately respond Tuesday to phone calls and an email seeking comment on the sentence.
