MediaCo Appoints Maire Mason to Lead Local Radio and Television Operations, Driving Major New York Market Shift

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan 26, 2026--

MediaCo Holding Inc. (Nasdaq: MDIA) today announced the appointment of Maire Mason as Vice President and General Manager of Local MediaCo Markets, marking a significant leadership move in the New York radio and television landscape.

In this role, Mason will oversee MediaCo’s local radio and television operations across New York City, Chicago, and Denver, with responsibility for marquee brands including HOT 97 (WQHT-FM), WBLS-FM, Luna 107.5 (WBLS-HD2), La Buena (WQHT-HD2), and EstrellaTV’s WMBC-TV in the New York tri-state area. MediaCo expects Mason’s responsibilities to expand to additional markets as the company accelerates national growth.

Mason joins MediaCo from Spanish Broadcasting System, where she served as Vice President and General Manager for the New York market, leading Mega 97.9 and Amor 93.1, and later adding Chicago’s La Ley 107.9 to her portfolio. Her career also includes more than 20 years at CBS Radio/Infinity Broadcasting, as well as senior leadership roles at Univision New York and Cumulus Media, where she helped launch New York City’s first FM news station and its first country station.
