Twitter Suspends Benghazi Hero After Criticizing President Obama for Calling It a “Conspiracy Theory”

Former President Barack Obama suggested on Friday that outrage over the 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi — which resulted in the deaths of four Americans — was a result of "wild conspiracy theories."

While trying to drum up support for Democrats in the 2018 midterms, Obama said Republicans, full of “resentment and paranoia are embracing "wild conspiracy theories like those surrounding Benghazi."

Soon after, Kris Paronto, a former Army Ranger who is credited with saving at least 20 people during the attack, blasted Obama on Twitter, calling him a coward who never sent support.

Twitter then slapped a temporary suspension on Paronto’s account for “violating Twitter Rules” in his criticism of Obama.

Twitter later lifted the suspension.
