“The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” - Psalm 121:7-8

As the world seems to teeter in these unpredictable times, are you experiencing a bit more anxiety than usual? If so, you’re not alone. It’s common these days to have an anxious heart without fully realizing why. Constant headlines, uncertainty about the future, and the weight of everyday responsibilities can quietly wear us down. Even when we appear to be doing okay on the surface, our hearts can hide anxiety without anyone knowing. The good news is you dont have to face this struggle alone. As believers, we are in this together, encouraging one another, praying for one another, and reminding each other of God’s unchanging faithfulness. When fear threatens to take hold, we can turn to the One who keeps us from all harm.

God invites us to bring every anxious thought to Him, trusting that His peace is greater than our circumstances. Wherever you find yourself today, may this prayer lead you into peaceful pastures of grace and ease. With Jesus, your heart can be settled and still, even in unpredictable times.

Let's pray ...

Heavenly Father,
I come to You with an anxious heart, knowing that You already see the burdens I’m carrying. Nothing is hidden from Your loving sight; this is comforting to me. You know the thoughts that keep me awake at night, the fears that come without warning, and the worries that seem to follow me throughout the day. Thank You for understanding and welcoming me into Your presence with compassion and grace. I don't have to pretend to be strong when I come to You, Lord. I can lay every concern at Your feet, trusting that You care deeply.

Lord, in these unpredictable times, when uncertainty swirls around us, help me remember that Your ways are always certain. When the future feels unclear, remind me that You are already there, faithfully guarding each step. Please protect my mind from dwelling on what I cannot control, and teach me to rest in Your promises instead of my fears. Replace anxious thoughts with the truth of Your Word, and help me fix my eyes on Your faithfulness rather than my circumstances. In Psalm 121:7-8, Your Word declares:

“The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”

What a comforting promise, Lord! Thank You for watching over my loved ones and me. Whether I am at home or away, I know You are with me. Your protection is not limited by time or circumstance. You remain, my faithful Keeper today and forever. Fill me with the peace that surpasses understanding, the peace that supersedes unpredictability and calms my anxious heart. Please silence the intrusive thoughts that steal my joy and threaten to overwhelm me. Help me remember that You have been faithful in every season of my life, and You will continue to be faithful in the days ahead.

Give me wisdom about what I see and hear. Help me discern what is true and what is not. Grant me the courage to trust You when I cannot see the path ahead, and the confidence to know that You are working all things out according to Your perfect will. May my heart become grounded in Your presence instead of tossed about by fear. Help me encourage others who are struggling with anxiety by pointing them to the same hope I have in You. Thank You for never leaving me, never forsaking me, and never growing weary of hearing my prayers. I choose to place my fears into Your capable hands and rest in the confidence that You are watching over my life.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.

Consider memorizing Psalm 121:6-7 from your favorite Bible translation. Carry it with you when anxiety fills your heart.

Joining us this week is worship leader turned viral comedian Heather Land. After growing up in the shadow of her mother’s decades-long addiction, Heather reflects on how this painful season—alongside her unexpected shift from the worship stage to the world of comedy—taught her that while our paths may take unforeseen turns, our core calling to encourage and uplift others remains constant.

Later in the episode, we’ll hear from Rachel Kessler, an Episcopal priest and Kenyon College chaplain who completed her PhD in medieval studies at the University of Toronto before pivoting to seminary after hitting academic burnout, then built a following as the “Nerdy Priest” on TikTok after a student secretly downloaded the app on her phone.
