A maker's hands holds Betsy & Iya's Hell Yes medallion in their Portland, OR production studio.

Conceived and designed in response to a national narrative that labeled Portland a “hellhole,” Hell Yes reclaims that language with pride. The collection launched on Thursday, October 16, 2025, and sold 229 units in the first week.

Proceeds from every sale support four local nonprofit organizations working to strengthen Portland from within. Since launching, the initiative has already raised over $1,275 for these nonprofits.

This short film accompanied the launch, featuring founder & designer Betsy Cross skating at Oaks Park and working alongside her team in their Northwest studio. It captures the grit, grace, and hope that lives in every Portlander.

“Portland isn’t perfect, but it’s not hell,” says Cross. “It’s where I built a business and where I’m raising my daughter. It’s the city I love; the city I’m here to help. Portland is my home – and no one deserves to have that feeling taken away.”

Hell Yes was designed, created, and launched by Portlanders for Portland —from the first sketch to the final casting pour in Betsy & Iya’s in-house studio.

About the Collection

Each Hell Yes medallion and keychain is designed, cast, and finished in Betsy & Iya’s Portland studio from polished brass, sterling silver, and 14k gold, with an option to direct proceeds to one of the featured nonprofits at checkout. Available now at betsyandiya.com/hellyes.

Three designs are available:

  • Rose + Hell Yes: Celebrating the City of Roses and all its thorns, buds, and roses.
  • Peace + Hell Yes: Half harmony, half see ya later. 100% Portland.
  • Heart + Portland: Is it broken or whole? Many shapes come together to form this heart, a reflection of Portland’s diversity and unity.
