How to Recognize the Idols In Your Life

Father God,
Search my heart tonight.
I don’t want to cling to anything that competes with You.
Help me to recognize the idols in my life—even the ones I’ve justified or ignored.

If I’ve placed my identity in performance…
If I’ve trusted in money, control, approval, or relationships more than You…
Please forgive me and realign my soul with Your truth.

Tear down anything I’ve elevated above You.
Show me what I turn to for comfort, value, or worth instead of Your presence.
Give me the courage to release it.

I want You to be first—above all else.
Thank You for Your mercy and patience as You gently call me back.
I surrender every false god tonight and declare:
You alone are worthy.
